if you need to sleep like its 1999, look no further.

Bro, what is wrong with me? For the past 3 years I have been SO sleepy. It just came out of nowhere in the 2020s and suddenly I was taking long naps every afternoon and waking up still tired. What gives?

Because of this, I don’t usually need that much help falling asleep at night. But with sleep taking up so much of my life now, the preparation process has really become a hobby of mine. I’ve started collecting pajamas (pls send recs) and this past year, I got super into ASMR.

I discovered Sleepy Keys ASMR one night on TikTok and I was instantly hooked. This incredible faceless actress has expertly recreated the Tupperware parties, QVC shows, and psychic hotlines of the ‘80s and ‘90s. And let me tell you, this shit is flawless. I don’t know how she does it. I mean, even down to the midwestern-leaning accent, the names of her invisible cast of characters (looking at you, Bernice), and the hum of the roomtone in each video...I am so genuinely impressed by every facet of this work. Whatever money she’s making off of these, she deserves more.

I highly recommend the Garfield Tarot series, the Tupperware series, of course, and every single QVC-style video. It’s soooo…me lying awake on the floor of my grandma’s living room after everyone else has gone to sleep.

She’s got accounts on all the platforms, but YouTube is the best one for sure bc you can cast it to your TV and watch them all full-screen as god intended. Personally, I watch her on my 2001 TV/VCR that my fiancé hooked up with a fire stick so I can stream my fav movies in all their pixelated glory. When it clicked that I could watch YouTube on there, too? Well, the rest is history.
